The hotels' price in Las Vegas gets doubled during the weekend. So we decided to visit the nearby national parks to avoid the crowd and to save a little money.
锡安峡谷国家公园（Zion Canyon National Park）在犹它州境内，开车离Las Vegas只有将近三个小时的路程。在吃了一顿巨饱无比的早餐之后，我们出发了。
Zion Canyon National Park is in Utah, about 2.5 hours driving distance away from Las Vegas.
锡安峡谷是个狭长的山谷，里面有许多的小路可以供游客行走攀爬，分许多难度等级。公园内有旅馆，非常方便。在开放的季节内，小车是不允许开进公园的，游客只能把车停在公园外，乘坐公园内免费的游览车去玩。但是由于我们去的时候是三月，还是off season，游览车和旅馆都没开，所以就开车进去。
Zion Canyon has many hiking trails, with various difficulty levels. Zion lodge is inside the park, run by the park. During the regular season, private vehicles are not allowed in the park. Visitors can park outside, and take free shuttle. When we came, the lodge and the shuttle are not running. So we drive in.
这个叫做Three Patriarchs，三长老峰。

开到旅馆Zion Lodge的停车场，正面对这座女士山Lady's mountain，有6800英尺，2000米高。

山脚下有小路可以走到上下祖母绿池(Upper and Middle Emerald Pools)，很容易的小路，我们就下去走走。背后是旅馆的绿房顶。

过一座小桥，桥下是峡谷里的小河处女河（Virgin River），春天雪水化了，带下山上的泥土，弄得水很浑浊。

在女士山脚下仰望。

走完小路后，接着往山谷里开。这是Weeping Rock哭泣的岩石 山脚下的停车场。因为山上沿石缝流下水来，石头上总是潮潮的，好像在哭一样。这个小路难度比较大，老太太走不了，到此一游就行了。

我们的计划是开到峡谷的最里面，然后走Riverside Walk，我在来之前查资料，据说这是北美最美的trail云云。这块石头叫The pulpit，很像个讲台，自然得留个影啦。

溪水从一千多米的高处流下，如果水流多了，就是条小瀑布。

这是一处路边的小潭，谭中的水是山上沿石头滴下来的。

爸爸带着两个女儿玩，慢慢地落在后面。走着走着，小二子又耍赖要背要抱了。

遇到已经走到底又回来的姥姥和妈妈，小二子再也不愿多走了。好吧，让她们在俺边歇着，爸爸带大女儿接着走。

走到小路的尽头了，这个牌子提醒这条河是会泛洪的，能淹死人的。

原来再往前，还可以在水里往前走，进到山里去。看到前面穿塑胶皮衣，手持棍棒，在水里行走的人了吗？当然大部分的人就止步了。

虽然典典强烈要求脱鞋下水，我还是打住了她，转身往回走。回程的风景也很美。

人困马乏地出了公园，除了开车的爸爸通通地睡觉。车子在山间盘旋，周围壮丽的大山实在好看。推醒妈妈从车里照几张相留念。

出了公园不久，山色开始变化，由红转白，这是所谓的mesa。这是棋盘山，checkboard，很像国际象棋一格一格的图案。

开了两个多小时，当天晚上开到了Bryce Canyon National Park 住宿。
